The Hospitality on Wheels mobile kitchen is the best temporary transportable kitchen of its type in Australia.

As a joint venture between Tallangatta Secondary College, Wodonga TAFE, and the Federal Department of Education and Training is has been designed both as a unique training resource and also to operate as a commercial kitchen.

With construction of the Hospitality on Wheels Kitchen having been completed in April 2005, it is in pristine condition and perfect working order.

Whether skills training for secondary and tertiary students, or as a substitute kitchen during major kitchen refurbishments at hospitals, or as a production resource for catering companies at major events or on film location, the HOW kitchen provides perfect facilities for catering for 300 or 3000.

The mobile kitchen is a fully equipped commercial kitchen, fitted within a semi-trailer with the following features:

  • Hydraullically operated fold out sides that create an increased covered floor, fully enclosed preparation and serving area.
  • Self-contained electric power.
  • On board hot water service; the trailer carries 300 litres of water and 600 litres sullage capacity.
  • Gas stoves, ovens, commercial dishwasher and commercial refrigeration.
  • Deep fryers
  • Gas plates
  • Salamanders
  • Wok burners
  • Meat slicer
  • Commercial dishwasher
  • Appropriate food storage facilities

The trailer can be transported by the Prime Mover supplied by the National Industrial Skills Training Centre (at a cost), a business division of Wodonga Institute of TAFE, or alternatively transportation and erection can be organised for a reasonable charge.

Hire charges for the Hospitality on Wheels mobile kitchen are very competitive and quotes can be produced for either a daily, weekly or monthly hire.
